Family Saturday and Closing Reception: February 17th, 11am – 1pm, with activities for kids

In Moon Moan, Raven Juarez and Asia Tail present recent paintings, drawings, and mixed media works using the moon as an aesthetic and conceptual framework. Both artists draw on the myriad meanings associated with the celestial body to explore themes of womanhood, and the lunar influence in all of us. Life-long friends, Asia and Raven are exhibiting their work together for the first time. Through these works, they reflect on memories of their shared childhood and their ongoing journey as they become women. Unabashedly symbolic, poetic, and nostalgic, the artists hope to illuminate unspoken realities shared by all women under one moon.

This exhibition was made possible with generous support from Potlatch Fund.

Moon Moan is more than an ode to the moon. It’s also a portrait of past and future selves and a tribute to female friendships and the many shapes we move in and out of.
